Step on the boat and leave everything behind you. The Wadden Islands are a guarantee for relaxing and getting a breath of fresh air. The Wadden islands that form the northern border of the Netherlands, have a unique character. The "island feeling" that each of the five islands evokes is really something you have to experience. Have you visited a Wadden Island? Then we will definitely see you again!
The largest of the Wadden Islands is Texel, and the first of the list. From Den Helder you step or drive on the boat to Texel. After Texel, Vlieland and Terschelling follow. These can be reached via Harlingen. On Vlieland your car is not allowed, but on Terschelling it is. The next in line is Ameland. For a visit you get on the boat from Holwerd. The last island in the list is also car-free; Schiermonnikoog. The boat to Schiermonnikoog departs from Lauwersoog.
In Den Helder, Harlingen, Holwerd and Lauwersoog, there is more than enough parking available for all visitors to the Wadden Islands. We recommend that you do so. Because for the better relaxing you really don't need a car!
