Vlieland is the island of writer and poet Slauerhoff. He often visited the island as a child to treat his asthma attacks with fresh, clean air. He often returned later in life but the sea was always calling to him. He travelled the world as a ship’s doctor while also writing about the islands. Let the landscape of Vlieland inspire you too.
