Summer Holidays
We are Seal Centre Pieterburen. During the summer holidays, we are open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We organize extra activities for young and old. With us, you can observe the care of the seals and their habitat, the Wadden Sea. Every day, a team of seal caretakers, veterinarians, and volunteers take care of these animals. They are sick, disturbed by humans, or entangled in litter. With your visit, you support our work. Will you join us?
Farewell to Pieterburen
Starting early next year, we will move to the WEC in Lauwersoog, a new location that offers more opportunities to continue our mission. The move also means a final farewell to Pieterburen. As the move is planned for early next year, we will remain open to visitors until the Christmas holidays. So, in the coming months, you have the very last chance to walk through the exhibition, see the pups here, or simply relive memories. Moreover, at the center, you will get a preview of our future at the WEC in Lauwersoog. Seize this last chance to visit Seal Centre Pieterburen this summer.

Note: These times are indicative. The exact program depends on the schedule of our seal caretakers. Presentations may also be switched due to weather conditions.
Our Summer Pavilion is open from Monday to Sunday (except for friday). Enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack on the terrace. With a view of the Wadden playground, where the children can romp around. Of course, you can also sit inside on less beautiful days.
