Discover the stories of the residents and staff of this chic Louis XIV-style Frisian mansion.
See the beautifully decorated rooms, with original stucco and wood carvings, decorated ceilings, wallpaper with landscapes and marble floors. Uniquely, you get to experience the house as the family did. Imagine being the resident for a moment for a moment.
Look in the cupboards and peek behind doors. And would you like to know how the Eysinga family enjoyed themselves? Then just like they did, play a game at the gaming table, cut your own silhouette portrait or try on the wig of the man of the house. Have a cup of tea in the Great Hall, one of the most beautiful rooms in the house where the family used to enjoy music, among other things.
Do the audio tour and wander through the secret corridors and on to the staff quarters of the house, such as the kitchen. If you are lucky, fresh biscuits will have just come out of the oven there. In the basement you can see how the staff did their laundry, and in the cleaning room it's as if you can still smell the wax.
