Texel

The crossing with rederij Teso to the island takes only 20 minutes and is affordable even with an RV. However, it is wise to make reservations during the high season, as the campsites are quickly fully booked. Wild camping is not allowed on Texel.

In addition, the campground is centrally located, making it easy to explore the entire island. Another popular campsite is Camping Loodsmansduin, located in the National Park Dunes of Texel. This campsite has spacious pitches and beautiful surroundings. From the campsite you can make beautiful walking and cycling trips through the dunes.
Another reason to go to Texel by camper is the beautiful nature that the island has to offer. Texel is a real hiking island. There are numerous hiking trails that take you through the dunes, over the beach and through the woods. The National Park Dunes of Texel is highly recommended. Here you can walk for hours and enjoy the tranquility and nature.
Texel is also a great destination for cycling enthusiasts. The island has more than 140 kilometers of cycle paths that take you past the most beautiful spots. For example, you can cycle around the island and enjoy the beautiful views of the sea along the way.
Ameland
Ameland is a fantastic destination for a camper holiday. With a camper, you can explore the entire island and discover its many attractions. The island has a vast dune area with many walking and cycling paths. The nature reserve Het Oerd is a beautiful area with dunes, beaches, salt marshes, and forests. Here, you can spot many different bird species and other animals.
There are several popular spots on Ameland where you can stay with your camper. One of the most popular spots is the campsite Klein Vaarwater in Buren. This campsite offers various amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna, and wellness facilities. You can also make use of a camper service point here.

Unfortunately, it is not permitted to travel to Vlieland with your own vehicle, such as a camper, because the island is car-free and only accessible to residents. Fortunately, you can still enjoy a visit to Vlieland by taking a day trip from Terschelling or Texel, for example, with Rederij Doeksen from Terschelling or Waddenveer De Vriendschap from Texel. This is a unique experience in itself. Alternatively, you can leave your camper at the camper parking area in Harlingen and then rent a bike on Vlieland to explore the entire island in one day.
Schiermonnikoog
Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit the Wadden island of Schiermonnikoog with a camper, as no cars are allowed. However, you can leave your camper at the parking lot in Lauwersoog, where the ferry departs, and visit the island for a day. Schiermonnikoog has been a National Park since 1989, featuring stunning nature composed of various landscapes. It is an ideal destination for a day trip due to its overwhelming natural beauty and the unique island experience you’ll enjoy.
