Restaurant 't Ailand LauwersoogĀ "Eat what the Wadden Sea serves"
In 2011, Carlo Petrini, founder and chairman of Slow Food International, opened tasting room 't Ailand. An initiative by Jan and Barbara Geertsema, (Goede Vissers) Good fishermen TS31 - "fishermen with respect for the sea".
In the Restaurant you can taste different types of North Sea fish from Goede Vissers and their fellow fishermen and the famous Wild Watts Oysters, which Jan and Barbara collected on the Watts, by hand. These oysters have the Waddengoud quality mark (certified local product). Various other local products are also served and sold.Ā To make reservations in our restaurant please call during opening hours or mail to tailand@goedevissers.nl.
Fishtours & Fishworkshops
Meanwhile the restaurant has been expanded with an adventurous offer in various fishtours on the Wadden Sea and in the adjacent chilled filleting room and fish workplace, workshops are offered in which you learn to fillet fish, smoke fish or cook or process seaweed.Ā For more information and bookings go to wadvistochten.nl, mail to wadvistochten@goedevissers.nl or drop by at 't Ailand during opening hours.
Parking is possible at the door. There is a ramp to the entrance of the restaurant, suitable for wheelchairs. The roof terrace is therefore not accessible to wheelchairs. There is also an AED available on the outside of our building.
