The Boschplaat on Terschelling is one of the few places ware rough nature in the Netherlands is at its best. Put on your shoes and go!
From the bicycle park at pole 19 is a hike or bike path below the sand drifted dunes till the end of the Boschplaat. About all bird species can be spotted in this Wad area.
Uncountable amount of birds like spoonbill, breads on the Boschplaat. Peace and space are essential in the monhts of april till august. The birdwatchers (rangers) from Staatsbosbeheer overlook this every day. During this period, they stay in weekly shifts in the two birdwatchhouses. These houses are only accessible by foot or by covered wagon. Listen to the stories from the rangers an take a peak through one of the telescoops.
