The farm of Jant Lont is an original Wieringer farm dating from 1854, is showing live and working on Wieringen. Special is the tilewall with bible exposures. The farm has been renovated in 2004-2005 and refurbished. It has a lot of information.
Around the 11th century the peat soil around former island Wieringen and Waddensea island Texel was badly eroded by storm floads. From then on the water threatend the lower coastal areas. Dykes were made to protect the land.
