It remains a remarkable story. Just as Dokkum is forever linked with Boniface, so too does the medieval missionary Liudger have a close relationship with Usquert. The astonishing healing of the blind singer Bernlef is also much gentler than the murder of Boniface attributed to rebellious Frisians. Miracles have not disappeared from the world around Usquert. Travelers on foot frequently experience this.
