Near Slootdorp acheologist found remains of settlements from 3100 B.C. between the Robbenoord forrest and the Dijkgats forrest. The canoe was also found there. The early inhabitant use the canoe for fishing. Around 2200 B.C the water level rose outside the moraines of Wieringen and Texel. Which made the region uninhabitable.Â
